Blogging LPSC 2009
Greetings from Texas! With the Arizona field trip over, today I hopped on a plane to Houston for the 40th Lunar and Planetary Science Conference. It will be going on all this week, starting on Monday and I will do my best to post my more interesting notes here. LPSC is a great conference, with the latest news from all aspects of planetary science, and a special focus on more geology-oriented research. Results from this conference often catch the attention of main-stream news sources, but I’ll be reporting on many more results than just the big press-releases, so I hope you’ll keep checking back here. It should be an exciting and fascinating week!

[…] Morgen, 23 maart 2009 start in Woodlands/Texas, de veertigste editie van de LPSC. Pardon, de wat? Yep, de LPSC, de jaarlijkse Lunar and Planetary Science Conference. Alles wat aan geleerdheid over manen en (dwerg-)planeten op Aarde rondloopt is vanaf maandag in Woodlands te vinden. Qua nieuwswaarde goed vergelijkbaar met de halfjaarlijkse bijeenkomsten van de AAS, de American Astronomical Society, zoals in januari 2009 de 213e aflevering. De 39e editie van de LPSC in maart 2008 werd gehouden in League City. Daar werden toen onder andere de resultaten bekendgemaakt van de Genesis-missie. De morgen startende editie duurt tot en met vrijdag 27 maart. Ga er van uit dat er de hele week berichten uit Woodlands zullen komen en dat ik daarover zal rapporteren. Jullie zijn gewaarschuwd.
