The Year-in-Review Meme
The rule: post the first sentence of the first post for each month. (I cheated a little…)
February: The mantra of Mars exploration is “follow the water,” and my research is no exception.
March: Check. This. Out. The HiRISE camera caught avalanches in action near the north pole of Mars.
April: Big news! Google has teamed up with Virgin to form Project Virgle: the first human colony on Mars.
May: Apparently NASA is looking to reach out to the video game generation by developing it’s own Massively Multiplayer Online game (MMO).
June: Have I ever mentioned how much I love the idea of space based solar power?
July: Have you heard of the game Spore?
August: Hello, my name is Rebecca Harbison, and I’m a grad student in astronomy at Cornell University, and guest-blogger.
September: The Big Picture blog has a great collection of photos showing the preparations for the upcoming space shuttle mission to repair the Hubble Space Telescope (STS-125).
October: A cool paper just came out in Icarus this week claiming that a crater in the northern plains of Mars may be the result of the impact of a small moonlet of Mars, possibly just smaller than Deimos.
November: Check out this true color and exaggerated color view of Mercury, taken by MESSENGER during the recent flyby!
December: I am back from Thanksgiving-related travels but am going to be quite busy this month, preparing for a conference, finishing the semester, and getting caught up now that National Novel Writing Month is over, so posting may be a little light.
